Movie makers from Summit Entertainment, a major film production company out of southern California, and its subdivision, Maverick Films, will be shooting a scene for a spooky new production in St. Helens next week.
The movie, called “Twilight,” is based on a series of best-selling novels by Stephenie Meyer and is about a teenage girl who moves to the rainy town of Forks, Wash., and meets and falls in love with, of all things, a vampire.
A majority of the scene shots will take place on south 6th Street and 1st Street, according to plans made with the city, said City Planner Skip Baker.
In particular, the scene to be shot is called “Charlie’s House.” Shooting is expected to start on April 7, said film publicist Peter J. Silbermann, and will occur over several days. Many of the shots are likely to take place at night.
Much of the filming will occur at a house located in the 6th Street area.
“It’s just beautiful, it’s very appropriate for the film,” Silbermann said.
This will be the first substantial movie shot in St. Helens since 1998’s “Halloweentown,” a Disney production centered in Olde Towne St. Helens
“Twilight” stars Kristen Stewart, who played in the Jodi Foster movie “Panic Room,” Robert Pattinson, who appeared in “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix,” and Elizabeth Reaser who regularly appears on the TV show “Grey’s Anatomy.”
Robert Pattinson was in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire AND Order of the Phoenix (but only for a few seconds in the latter).
Darn, my dad used to live in St Helens. Maybe I should plan a little trip...hmm...

Actually Pattinson was in Goblet of Fire the one clip they did show of him lasted less than 30 seconds and was a flashback from Harry's memeories... gah I'm a dork

haha looks like i'm the biggest loser here, "loser" cause although he was in GoF, he was not only in a memory flashback of harry's from his 4th year, but he was also in a picture hanging on a mirror in the room of requirement in OotP.

Elizabeth Reaser doesn't exactly STAR in the movie. It's more Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart. The story is about Edward Cullen and Bella Swan, how they fall in love, and some complications following that bond. Elizabeth plays Esme (an important character, definately, but I wouldn't say she STARS in the movie. If you were to say that, then you would have to include ALL of the Cullens (Jackson Rathesbone, Ashley Greene, Nikki Reed (sp?), Peter Facineli (sp? sorry :[) and Kellan Lutz.) Sorry. That was really bothering me.

I am a St. Helens Alumni. I moved to Phoenix (strange) 9 years ago. I remember when they filmed Halloweentown. I know the house on Twilightmoms. I wish I could go home for a week. Of course this would happen after I left, something exciting and fun. :(

OMG! I'm so happy that they decided to film part of the moive here!!! I love this book. It is my favorite by far. I went downtown last night and saw the truck and cars that they are using. There are trailers everywhere!!! This is so amazing.

It's a zoo on 6th street where they are filming and there are police standing at the intersection of Columbia and 6th to prevent people from going down that part of 6th street. Activity seems to be pretty busy around 7pm every night as we leave the park further up 6th street following baseball practice.

I drove down to 6th street on wednesday at about eleven,(I get off work then) and there was no one around, so I drove up there and saw the house then, but its not the same as seeing a good picture taken in day time.
I am really excited for this!!!
I think that they should give us advanced showings, becuase our town did let them film here for free!
