Beat the heat at your local cooling center

Communities open up centers to help people cool off during heat wave

Cooling centers are springing up throughout Columbia County, giving people a little respite from the record-setting heat wave that has hit the Metro area.

Cooling center hours should run from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Officials think the centers will also be open Thursday, July 30.

Anyone who is elderly, disabled or shut-in can get a ride free of charge from Columbia River Rider. Call 503-366-0159.
