Local business collects supplies for county foster children
The Scappoose Edward Jones branch office is collecting school supplies and clothes for the Columbia County Foster Children Program. Columbia City celebrates on Sept. 12
Columbia City is holding its annual celebration on Saturday, Sept. 12. Events include a 9 a.m. pancake breakfast at the Knapp Social Center, book sale, raffle and silent and live auctions to support the community library.

Columbia Chorale begins fall season
Fall rehearsals for the Columbia Chorale of Oregon begin under the guidance of a new director. Tuesday Rupp will start conducting singers at 7 p.m. at the St. Helens High School Choir Room on Sept. 10. New singers are welcome to join.
Visit the ‘MAiZE’ at the Pumkin Patch
This year’s Pumpkin Patch “MAiZE” will take the form of the Trailblazers logo. It opened on Sept. 5 during the annual Labor Day Weekend Harvest Festival, along with a Trail Blazers Fan Appreciation Day.
The MAiZE is open Sunday through Thursday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday and Saturday 10 a.m. until 10 p.m., through October 31st. The Haunted Field of Screams will be held Oct. 9-11, 16-18, 23-25 and 28-31 from 7 to 10 p.m.
Admission is $5 for ages 6-12 and seniors, $7 for ages 13 and up, and free for ages 5 and under. Discounts are available for groups of 15 or more with advanced reservations. For additional information visit thepumpkinpatch.com or call 503-621-7110.
