Free H1N1 vaccine available Monday for Scappoose students with health conditions

ADVERTISEMENTS

Children living in the Scappoose School District who have an underlying health condition may qualify to receive the H1N1 vaccine on Nov. 23.

The vaccine is still in a very limited supply so only students with certain chronic conditions (including asthma, diabetes, neuro-muscular diseases, and heart, liver and kidney diseases) are able to get the injection at this shot clinic.

The vaccine, administered by the Columbia County Health Department, will be given in the Scappoose High School cafeteria between 2 and 6 p.m. It is free.

School-age students who are pregnant, or who care for an infant under 6 months old, qualify as well.

Students under the age of 15 must have a parent or guardian present.

Any questions about if your child qualifies can be directed to district nurse Brenda Rafferty, 503-543-6374.
