It took Justin Davis and Mary Gann – co-owners of Garden Depot, located alongside Highway 30, near the Peace Candle — 10 minutes to decide the property was right for them.
With two buildings totaling 4,200 square feet and an additional one-acre field, the property abuts a busy highway and is in the center of the Havlik Road project, which will create paved access roads to an area that currently has none.
Call it love at first sight or a case of caveat emptor, let the buyer beware, it doesn’t matter to Davis. He said there are ambitious plans in place for the Garden Depot, including a billboard sign, an expansion of services and a community garden.
None of this will happen, though, for another year.
“It gives us time to get our inventory set and build a customer base,” Davis said.
