The Scappoose Indians football team had seven players named to the Cowapa League All-League first team in balloting last week
Overall, Scappoose had 17 players receive all-league honors. The first team selections also go on the ballot for all-state honors.
Scappoose quarterback Nick Paxton, a senior, headed the list for the first-team selections and also was runner-up for Player of the Year. Kicker Erik Calhoon, also a senior, was named Punter of the Year.
Joining them on the first team were Chad Hollingsworth, a sophomore offensive lineman; Trever Gwin, a senior running back; David Mayo, a junior linebacker; Jesse Oblack, a senior defensive back; and Levi Raethke, a junior defensive lineman.
Second team selections included: Tim Trask, a junior offensive lineman; Andrew Jones, a senior offensive lineman; Adam Raethke, a junior defensive lineman; Adonis Siscoe, a junior wide receiver and defensive back; Max Updike, a senior wide receiver; and Jason Sawyer, a senior wide receiver.
Honorable mention for the Indians included: Dakota Meyer, a senior offensive lineman; Brandon Bernardi, a senior defensive lineman; Derek Welter, a sophomore defensive lineman; and Dillon Davidson, a senior wide receiver.
The Indians finished the season with a 7-3 record, third in the Cowapa League. They beat Siuslaw Friday night in the first round of the 4A state playoffs.
